Do You Have a Cool Part?
ELIGIBILITY: Contest entries must be functional 3D printed parts that serve a purpose and have something to say about how additive manufacturing (AM) is advancing. Parts must be the submitter’s original design (i.e., you cannot print something cool off Thingiverse and submit it). Parts will be judged in the following categories:
- Best Production Part - This winning submission will be a product or component that is currently for sale or in use, and is 3D printed in full production volume.
- Best Proof-of-Concept Part - This winning submission will be an item not yet in production, but one that illustrates AM’s trajectory or progress toward future applications.
- Best Bespoke Solution - This winning submission is a part that solves a unique, one-time problem.
INSTRUCTIONS: Complete this form and fill out all the requested data. It is understood that confidentiality agreements may limit some of the information you can provide, but submissions with insufficient information may not be accepted in the Cool Parts Showcase. If you have any questions or problems, please direct them to Jacquie Webb at JWebb@gardnerweb.com.
SHIPPING & TRANSPORTATION: The contest is open to manufacturers, designers, students and any user of 3D printing for functional end-use parts. Entrants should be available to travel to the 2023 Formnext Forum event (August 28-30, 2023 in Austin, TX) and they must be willing to ship or bring a physical part to display at the event. (Exceptions may be made for extremely large parts!) DO NOT send parts to Additive Manufacturing magazine or Gardner Business Media.
